Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Baking Time: 20 minutes

Total Preparation and Baking Time: 35 minutes

Yield: 12 Servings

Ingredients:

The Schmear:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 stick butter, room temp.

  • 1/4 tsp. salt

  • 1 tsp. cinnamon or pumpkin spice

The Frosting:

  • 1/4 cup of the Cheesecake filling

  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp. vanilla

  • about 1/4 cup milk (depends on desired consistency of drizzle)

The Cheesecake Filling:

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, room temp.

  • 1/3 cup condensed milk

  • 1 tsp. best quality vanilla extract

Other Things You'll Need:

  • a hand full of pecan pieces

Directions:

  1. Place the Hawaiian Rolls (connected) on a table horizontally to show 4 columns of rolls and 3 rows of rolls. With a serrated knife, vertically slice each column of rolls into half about 3/4 of the way down.

  2. Turn the whole loaf of Hawaiian Rolls vertically to show 3 columns of rolls and 4 rows of rolls. With a serrated knife, vertically slice each column of rolls into half (it should be criss-crossing at this point) about 3/4 of the way down.

  3. With a paring knife, poke a criss-cross into each 1/4 portion of every roll.

  4. Mix cream cheese and condensed milk in a stand mixer bowl or a bowl with a hand mixer. Add best quality vanilla extract and mix until smooth. Fill up a piping bag and save 1/2 cup of the filling.

  5. In the same bowl, add brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, room temperature butter and mix until smooth. This is The Schmear.

  6. In a separate bowl, add powdered sugar, the rest of our Cheesecake Filling, a lil' bit of vanilla, and gradually add milk until it turns into a desired consistency that you can drizzle. I like mine on the thickers side, so a little bit goes a long way. Add it in increments to avoid it from being too runny. Fill up a piping bag fitted over a tumbler (to keep stable) and set aside.

  7. Pipe the Cheesecake Filling into every quarter of each roll.

  8. Evenly spread the Schmear and sprinkle the pecans evenly on top and bake at 350F for about 20 minutes.

  9. Cut the tip of the piping bag filled with The Frosting and drizzle it over the top of rolls. Serve and enjoy!
