Homemade Caramel Corn | Best Pops Ever | Father's Day DIY Recipe
Ingredients
2 bags of popcorn, popped
1 c brown sugar
½ c unsalted butter
¼ c corn syrup
½ tsp. Pink Himalayan Sea salt
½ ts baking soda
Instructions
Grease a large bowl and pair of chopsticks with cooking spray.
Pop bags of popcorn kernels in the microwave.
In a heavy bottomed pot, stir the brown sugar, butter, syrup, and salt together. Heat on medium low. Swirl, but avoid stirring. When large bubbles begin to form and is foamy on the surface, set a timer for 5 minutes. Avoid stirring.
Take the pot off the heat and quickly stir in the baking soda and pour over the popped corn in batches. Toss to coat.
Place coated popcorn unto a baking sheet lined with parchment and bake at 350F for 20-25 minutes, until deep golden brown in color.
Spread onto a sheetpan or table lined with parchment and allow to cool.
Separate, once the popcorn is cooled and fill a large glass jar with the popcorn.
Print out "Best Pops Ever" artwork on a 4x6 photo card.
Punch out holes on the top of the card and attach with baker's twine onto the top lip of the jar. Give it to your "Pops" on Father's Day!
